KARACHI: Angry mob has torn down a private cellphone company’s boards in Saddar Mobile Market alleging there were insulting remarks on the signposts toward the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH). The enraged people on Friday started the protest upon seeing private mobile company hoardings with insulting remarks.
Reports of disorder in SHO Predi Saddar Mobile Market were received this morning, According to Predi Street police station. Police rushed to the spot. District South Police spokesman said that angry people’s reaction was caused by a device installed at Star City Mall that has the aforementioned remarks.
According to the district south police spokesman, SHO Predi switched off all Wi-Fi devices in the area soon as he had reached the spot knowing the sensitivity of the matter. The police arrested 27 people including the office staff of the private company.
District South Police further said a team headed by the SP Saddar has been formed to investigate the matter. Strict legal action is promised against the culprits who allegedly insulted the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH).
The public’s protest has been continued till the filing of the news, against the private mobile company. So far no explanation has been provided by the company
