KARACHI: In a shocking incident, a newlywed groom was found dead inside his home in Karachi’s Orangi Town, leading to the arrest of his bride, who is reportedly a former police constable.
According to police authorities, the victim, identified as Hamza, was found hanging from a noose. However, preliminary evidence strongly refutes claims of suicide, pointing instead to a cold-blooded murder. The victim’s hands and feet were tied, a cloth was stuffed into his mouth, and visible signs of torture were present on his body.
The arrest came after the bride, identified as Dua, informed the family that Hamza had committed suicide. This claim was immediately challenged by the victim’s brother, who discovered Hamza hanging with his hands and feet bound.
A murder case has been officially registered on the complaint of Hamza’s father. The First Information Report (FIR) names the bride, Dua, and her former husband, Fahad, as the primary suspects.
Karachi police officials revealed that the couple was newly married, and their wedding reception (Valima) was scheduled to take place later this month on June 18.
The Crime Scene Unit has swept the location, collecting vital forensic evidence to piece together the events leading to the crime. Authorities stated that while initial evidence indicates a homicide, the final post-mortem report is awaited to determine the exact cause of death.
Investigations are currently underway from multiple angles.
