Karachi: Strong winds and light rain brought welcome relief to Karachi on Saturday, easing the city’s heat and humidity and making the weather noticeably more pleasant.
Intermittent showers and drizzle were reported in several parts of the city, while cooler winds provided much-needed relief from the recent hot and humid conditions.
Rainfall was recorded in Kathore, Gadap, Super Highway, North Nazimabad, Nazimabad, and surrounding areas. Showers also improved weather conditions in Safoora Goth, Scheme 33, and the Mausamiyat area.
Meanwhile, light drizzle was reported in Saddar, the Old City Area, Landhi, Korangi, and Quaidabad. Residents across various neighbourhoods experienced a noticeable drop in temperature as gusty winds swept through the city.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), the current weather system affecting Karachi is relatively weak, making light rain and drizzle more likely than heavy rainfall.
The Met Office said cloud cover remains over the northern parts of the city, although rainfall is expected to remain light. Similar weather conditions, including intermittent light showers, may continue in different areas of Karachi over the coming days.
Weather experts said the current rain system is expected to be short-lived, with only scattered light showers forecast rather than widespread heavy rainfall.
