K-Electric schedules maintenance shutdown for multiple feeders on 21 June

Karachi: K-Electric (KE) has announced a planned maintenance shutdown across various parts of Karachi on 21 June, with electricity supply set to remain suspended in several residential, commercial and industrial areas as the utility undertakes scheduled network maintenance and infrastructure improvement works.

According to the maintenance schedule issued by KE, more than 25 feeders and RMUs will be affected by temporary power outages of varying durations throughout the day. The utility said the maintenance activity is part of its ongoing efforts to enhance network reliability and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply in the long term.

A large number of feeders, including Abdullah More, Bengal Oil, Bus Terminal, Cast Iron, Degesh Feeder, Down Stream I, Globe Textile, International Industries Ltd, Irfan Steel, Kolachi, Lakhani Tower, N.T.R, Perac, Plastic Crafter (Universal Tex.), Pole #56 RMU, Qaim Khani RMU, Star City, Vay Water and Zamzam Flour, are scheduled to remain without electricity from 8:00am to 6:00pm.

Several feeders will face extended shutdowns, with Golden Harvest, Indus Hospital and Saleem Industries RMU expected to remain offline until 8:00pm, while Lyra Shoes will experience the longest outage of the day, from 8:00am to 11:00pm.

Meanwhile, Malir City and Usman Hospital are scheduled for maintenance-related outages from 9:00am to 6:00pm, while Chishtia Flour, Qandhari Flour and Turn Style will remain affected from 9:00am to 6:30pm.

Among the feeders facing shorter shutdown periods are Barret Hodgson, which will remain without power from 10:00am to 4:00pm, and Broughs Welcome and Century Engineering (NCB), where electricity supply will be suspended from 10:00am to 6:00pm.

KE has advised residents, businesses and industrial consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements in advance to minimise inconvenience during the maintenance period.

The utility reiterated that the planned shutdowns are essential for carrying out technical upgrades and preventive maintenance aimed at strengthening Karachi’s electricity distribution network. Consumers have been encouraged to follow KE’s official communication channels for updates regarding restoration timings and any changes to the maintenance schedule.
