K-Electric has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown across several parts of Karachi on August 7, 2026, to carry out essential maintenance work on its power distribution network. The temporary suspension of electricity supply will affect dozens of feeders for varying durations throughout the day.
According to the utility’s maintenance schedule, power outages will begin as early as 8:30am in some localities and continue until 8:00pm in others, depending on the feeder. The maintenance exercise is aimed at ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the electricity distribution system.
Among the areas scheduled for a 9:00am to 6:00pm shutdown are 51-C Area, Airport Telephone Exchange, Aleemabad, Block-5 RMU, Dawat-e-Hidayat (Old Saifee Foundation), Deh Landhi, Ejaz Ansari RMU, Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation, Ghaniabad RMU, Gulbahar, Harmain Builders, Kathiawar Society, Lashari Goth, Naz Ice, Nisar Shaheed Park, Plastic Crafter (Universal Tex.), Sallu Garden, Shaez Residency, Talha Cottages, Uni Gold RMU and UBL Sports.
Electricity supply to Eid Gah RMU will remain suspended from 8:30am to 6:00pm, while Baray Wala RMU, Mehran Bottler, Sadiq Re-Rolling and Uthal Bazar will experience outages from 10:00am or 9:00am until 5:00pm, depending on the feeder.
The schedule also shows extended shutdowns for several feeders. Asim RMU and Raja Traders will remain without power from 10:00am to 8:00pm, while Saffron Engineering is scheduled for a 9:00am to 7:00pm outage. Pole-20 will face a shutdown from 9:00am to 5:30pm, whereas International Ceramic will experience a shorter interruption from 10:00am to 2:00pm. Meanwhile, Poly Trade and Sector-D S/S-3 are scheduled for outages from 10:00am to 6:00pm.
Consumers residing in the affected areas have been advised to make necessary arrangements during the maintenance period. K-Electric has stated that the scheduled shutdown is part of its routine maintenance programme aimed at improving the stability and performance of the power supply network.
