SUKKUR: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to clearly state its position on the fight against terrorism in the country.
Speaking to the media in Sukkur, the chief minister expressed conditional support for the imposition of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP).
Murad Ali Shah said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) did not favour governor’s rule in the province. However, he maintained that PTI’s leadership needed to seriously consider the direction its politics was taking at a time when the entire country was facing a wave of terrorism.
Clarifying his constitutional position, the chief minister said governor’s rule might not be a politically desirable step, but it was not unconstitutional or unlawful if imposed within the framework of the Constitution and the law.
