Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves rise to $22.47 billion

Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves reached $22.47 billion as of July 31, 2026, according to the latest data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

The country’s foreign exchange reserves comprise $17.04 billion held by the SBP and $5.43 billion maintained by commercial banks, bringing the total liquid reserves to $22.47 billion.

During the week ending July 31, 2026, the SBP’s foreign exchange reserves recorded a modest increase of $13 million, rising to $17.04 billion from the previous week’s level.

The central bank publishes weekly data on the country’s foreign reserve position to provide an update on Pakistan’s external liquidity and reserve holdings.

Meanwhile, the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) said that a record 5,438 new companies were registered in July, including five international companies that established offices in Pakistan.

According to an official a statement, companies from Malaysia, the United Arab Emirates, and China entered the Pakistani market, while 112 newly registered companies included foreign directors.

The registrations comprised 3,148 private limited companies, 2,117 single-member companies, 127 limited liability partnerships (LLPs), 28 non-profit organizations, and 18 public companies.
