JF-17 Thunder jet has reportedly attracted strong interest at the World Defense Exhibition in Riyadh, as Pakistan seeks to expand defense exports.
According to state broadcaster PTV, JF-17 fighter jet generated a lot of buzz at the World Defense Exhibition in Riyadh, drawing considerable attention from defense analysts and visitors.
The Pakistan-China jointly-built multi-role aircraft stood among an array of combat jets showcased by the United States, Saudi Arabia and several other nations.
Pakistan’s participation in the exhibition comes as it holds negotiations with at least 13 countries for potential defense exports. Media reports indicate that discussions with six to eight of these countries have reached an advanced stage, covering the possible sale of JF-17 aircraft co-produced with China, along with trainer planes, unmanned systems and other military hardware.
Countries involved in the talks include Saudi Arabia, Indonesia, Morocco, Sudan, Ethiopia and Nigeria, as well as the eastern Libyan administration led by Khalifa Haftar.
Pakistan’s military has also confirmed ongoing discussions with Bangladesh and Iraq regarding the JF-17 and other defense equipment, though further details have not been disclosed.
