ISLAMABAD: Japanese Ambassador to Pakistan Kuninori Matsuda has appreciated Pakistan’s effort to curb coronavirus outbreak in the country.
The Japanese Ambassador met Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Health Dr. Zafar Mirza in Islamabad where both officials exchanged views over the alarming situation of the country due to the emerging cases of the coronavirus patients.
During the meeting, Dr. Zafar Mirza also appreciated Ambassador Kuninori Matsuda for acknowledging Pakistan’s efforts to curb the spread of the disease, that has claimed 31 lives across the country.
Pakistan on Wednesday received $2 million from Japan to combat COVID-19. Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Hammad Azhar in this regard expressed gratitude to Japan for providing Pakistan the grant to fight the deadly virus.
Punjab has the highest number of infections up to 845 followed by Sindh with 712 patients. The country has recorded 126 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 2,272 coronavirus cases.
