ISLAMABAD: The Executive Committee of Islamabad High Court Bar Association (IHCBA) has strongly condemned alleged recording and leakage of Audio recording targeting the judiciary and the President Supreme Court Bar Association.

The condemnation came after an audio leak surfaced online and spread like a wildfire across social media, purporting to present former Chief Minister Pervaiz Elahi asking his associate Abid Zuberi to follow up on the matter and they also discuss a case of former Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ghulam Muhammad Dogar that is affixed for hearing before (Justice) Naqvi.

In a press note issued to media here on Saturday, the IHCBA said that the lawyers’ body condemned the alleged recording and leakage of Audio recording targeting the judiciary and the President Supreme Court Bar Association, which is just to malign the judiciary and the independence of the Bench and Bar

It said “we also condemn the press conference of the Federal Interior Minister and term it as attack on the independence of the Bench and Bar. Such Act of the persons (involved) has already been condemned by the August Supreme Court of Pakistan in many judgments, which is contrary to the fundamental rights of the constitution of Islamic Republic of Pakistan 1973. IHCBA stand with the Judiciary and the SCBA.”
