A Saudi woman has transformed a century-old house in Madinah’s historic Al-Mughaisilah neighborhood into “The Anarat Boutique”, a heritage hotel offering a unique cultural and spiritual experience just a few kilometers from the Prophet’s Mosque.
The Anarat Boutique stands as a distinctive example of Saudi Arabia’s heritage, showcasing its rich cultural identity amid the rise of modern glass structures.
“Anarat Boutique offers a unique model in highlighting Saudi Arabia’s heritage, focusing not on modern architecture, but on the beauty of tradition through carefully selected furniture and intricate artistic details,” said May Al-Musallam, the founder, in an interview with Arab News.
The building was carefully restored using basalt stone, the original material, along with traditional materials to maintain its historical integrity. Subtle touches were added to preserve the house’s authenticity.
The restoration process was led by a specialized team from Tech Design, in collaboration with consultants, ensuring both durability and safety.
Al-Musallam shared, “The boutique has attracted many visitors seeking an authentic tourist experience. What sets Anarat Boutique apart is its Madinah-style details, which are presented in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.”
To book a tour, visitors can check out the boutique’s Instagram page or connect via Airbnb.
