Lindsay Lohan makes a spirited return to the rom-com genre in Netflix’s Our Little Secret. However, this Christmas film leans more into the hilariously awkward than the traditionally festive.
Since its release on November 27, Our Little Secret has climbed to the top of Netflix’s charts, surpassing the shark thriller “Something in the Water” and the animated family favorite “Spellbound”, featuring Nicole Kidman and Rachel Zegler.
Plot
Lohan stars as Avery, a business consultant spending Christmas with her boyfriend Cam (Jon Rudnitsky) and his family for the first time. Also joining the holiday gathering are Cam’s sister Cassie (Katie Baker) and her boyfriend Logan (Ian Harding). Avery and Logan share a complicated history—they were childhood best friends who dated through their teens and twenties before a painful breakup a decade ago, coinciding with Avery’s mother’s death.
Now reunited in the lavish home of Cam and Cassie’s ultra-rich parents, Erica (Kristin Chenoweth) and Leonard (Dan Bucatinsky), Avery and Logan must navigate a four-day holiday packed with tension, nostalgia, and over-the-top antics.
Is it worth watching?
Directed by Stephen Herek and written by Hailey DeDominicis, Our Little Secretserves up a mix of heartfelt moments and forced humor. While some comedic attempts miss the mark, the film’s charm and Lohan’s magnetic performance make it worth the watch—especially for fans of feel-good chaos and romantic misadventures.
Our Little Secret is available to watch on Netflix.
