KARACHI: The Karachi Development Authority (KDA) has failed to take action against the loss of Rs1.8 million due to road cutting in Gulistan-e-Johar, ‘illegally’ done by XEN Mohammad Zeeshan.
According to details, the KDA official has not submitted challan of road cutting to the concerned department even after 12 days. Meanwhile, the higher authority has not registered a case against the illegal road cutting from the contractor and XEN Mohammad Zeeshan.
Earlier on December 23, XEN Engineering Gulistan-e-Johar Rahat Fahim, while talking to M.M News, assured that a letter would be issued to the concerned department against this illegal road cutting and “If not, we will file a lawsuit”.
However, relevant sources have informed that Rahat Fahim has received a huge bribe in this regard, which is why all the proceedings have been stopped. When contacted, Rahat Fahim refused to comment in this regard.
The challan for 1200 feet road cutting near Gulistan-e-Johar’s Main University Road is Rs1.8 million. However, without submitting the challan, Mohammad Zeeshan illegally allowed the road cutting by allegedly receiving Rs 5 lakh from the contractor Wazir Haider.
