KARACHI: The Administrator of District Municipality Corporation (DMC) South has illegally appointed a favoured person to the voluntarily created post of director of the Enforcement and Recovery Department.
Despite not having the post of Enforcement Department in the Schedule of Establishment for the budget year 2019-2020, Administrator DMC south illegally appointed Kazim Shah, blowing up the orders of the Supreme Court and the Chief Minister of Sindh.
During the local body period, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had warned all the institutions regarding corruption and illegal appointments and promotions.
According to the budget book, the enforcement and recovery department has the capacity of one deputy director, two assistant directors and other lower-level employees, while at present an additional director and an additional assistant director have been appointed.
Sources prior to the development have informed that the newly appointed Kazim Shah was suspended on the basis of alleged corruption. After which, using political influence, he managed to settle matters with Administrator Irshad Sudhar.
Sources further revealed that in the previous local body era, Kazim Shah from the Enforcement and Recovery Department allegedly paid Rs 500,000 monthly to the local body committee, which is now being received by the administrator.
