Do you know you can change your Instagram’s algorithm? Of course, you would want to if you are seeing the same kind of reels over and over again. Instagram’s Reels algorithm is basically watching your every move. It tracks which videos you watch till the end, rewatch, like, or comment on, and serves up more of the same. Even accidental taps can throw it off, flooding your feed with content you don’t actually want.
On the other hand, people sometimes get obsessed with a one type of content, but don’t like that any more, however, on your previous habits, now your feed is haunted by similar videos. The fix? Resetting your Reels algorithm.
Here’s how;
- Open Instagram and go to your profile.
- Tap the three-bar “More” icon in the top-right corner.
- Select Content Preferences.
- Tap Reset Suggested Content.
- Review the info, accept the terms, and confirm.
Once done, your feed will gradually start showing content that actually interests you. Just remember: this is permanent, no taking it back.
