The United Arab Emirates has emerged as an attractive destination for skilled and business people from all over the world.
Thanks to its modern infrastructure, excellent security, tax-free income and strong economy, thousands of foreigners are eager to be part of the workforce here.
In this regard, the 2-year employment visa is one of the most common residence permits, which is issued to foreign employees who are employed by an Emirati company.
The two-year employment visa gives Pakistanis and other foreigners the legal right to live and work in the UAE for two years. This visa is usually sponsored by a company registered in the UAE, which completes all the stages of the employee visa.
The visa holder is allowed to move freely in the country during the visa, which can be renewed for another two years if the employment continues.
Eligibility:
To obtain a 2-year UAE visa, the applicant must meet a few conditions, including a valid job offer or contract from a registered employer in the UAE, the employer must have a valid trade licence, the applicant must have appropriate qualifications or experience, clearance in the mandatory medical examination, a clean criminal record, and a guarantee of residence and employment from the employer.
Documents required for obtaining a visa:
These documents include a valid passport, passport-sized photographs with a white background, a letter of employment or contract, educational and professional certificates (certified by the UAE Embassy and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs), the company’s trade license and registration certificate, entry permit form, medical fitness report, an Emirates ID form, proof of residence or residential arrangement, proof of health insurance, and payment of the application fee.
Visa Renewal:
The employer can renew the visa before the completion of two years. During renewal, a medical test, Emirates ID and visa stamping are required again. The renewal process must be initiated at least 30 days before the visa expires.
Job Change:
If the employee wants to change companies, the current visa is cancelled and a new visa is sponsored by the new company, a process that is completed transparently under the Ministry of Human Resources.
Reasons for Visa Rejection:
Reasons for visa rejection include incomplete or incorrect documents, an unregistered or unregulated employer, failure in a medical test, a mismatch between qualifications and position, and previous visa fines or violations.
