KARACHI: The religious festival of the Hindu community, Holi, is being celebrated today across the world including Pakistan.
In Pakistan, minorities have the full right to celebrate their religious festivals. Holi celebrations will be held in different cities of the country.
On this special day, Hindus usually gather in temples and celebrate the Holi there. Much happiness can be seen in temples located in cities that have a comparatively greater Hindu population such as Lahore and Sindh region.
People clean their houses and prepare special delicacies. They meet up with friends and play with the colours, dance and generally have a good time.
The most important occasion during the Holi festival is to spread different colors on each other. Holi people celebrate religious festivals by putting different colors on each other’s faces.
People distribute sweets on this occasion. Holi festivities are being held in various temples across the country including Lahore and Karachi.
Holi is a sacred festival close to the Hindu community which sends a message of peace to people from different faiths around the world. On the eve of Holi, different colours are scattered in the air and on the ground.
Hindu people celebrating the festival have the right to leave in government and private institutions, under which they are given leave to celebrate, while political and social leaders also participate in the event.
