Gold prices broke their recent upward trend on Monday, as local rates fell in line with declines in international prices. In the local market, the price of gold per tola dropped by Rs1,500, settling at Rs279,300.
Similarly, the price of 10-gram gold decreased by Rs1,286, reaching Rs239,455, according to the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
On Saturday, the price of gold per tola had increased by Rs1,400, reaching Rs280,800.
International gold prices also saw a decline on Monday. According to APGJSA, the price stood at $2,675 per ounce (with a premium of $20), a drop of $15 compared to the previous day.
In contrast, silver prices remained unchanged, holding steady at Rs3,350 per tola.
