Gold prices on Monday decreased in both domestic and foreign markets as the yellow metal declined from its all-time high. After a drop of Rs3,500 in a single day, the price of gold per tola in Pakistan stood at Rs248,700.
The rates released by the All Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA) show that the 10-gram gold was sold for Rs213,220, down Rs3,021.
On Saturday, gold price per tola had increased by Rs1,500 to an all-time high of Rs252,200 in Pakistan.
The international rate of gold on Monday was set at $2,381 per ounce (with a premium of $20), after a decline of $30 in the international market, APGJSA said.
Meanwhile, silver rate saw a decline of Rs30 to settle at Rs2,650 per tola.
Moreover, the Pakistani rupee registered a minor gain against the US dollar, appreciating 0.05% in the opening hours of trading against the US dollar in the inter-bank market on Monday.
Around noon, the rupee was hovering at 278.17, a gain of Re0.14 against the greenback.
