KARACHI: The domestic bullion market extended its downward trajectory on Tuesday, offering some respite to consumers after last week’s sharp rally.

This marks the fourth consecutive session of decline, easing pressure on households and wedding shoppers who had been hit hard by soaring rates.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, the price of 24‑karat gold per tola fell Rs2,500 to Rs434,936, while 10 grams of 24‑karat gold dropped Rs2,143 to Rs372,887. The 22‑karat gold per 10 grams was quoted at Rs341,825.

Silver also recorded losses, with 24‑karat silver per tola down Rs120 to Rs6,559, and 10 grams of silver slipping Rs103 to Rs5,623.

In the international market, gold declined $25 to $4,125 per ounce, while silver shed $1.20 to $60.80 per ounce.

Market analysts said the continued correction reflects profit‑taking and cooling speculative demand. For local buyers, the decline is seen as a welcome relief, though prices remain historically high compared to earlier months.

Traders, however, cautioned that volatility is likely to persist as global markets remain sensitive to inflationary data and currency movements.
