LAHORE: A sessions court in Lahore on Tuesday granted interim pre-arrest bail to YouTuber Ali Hyderabadi until July 14 in a case registered over alleged abuse of his wife.
Additional Sessions Judge approved the interim bail plea and directed police not to arrest the accused until the next hearing.
Former Lahore Bar Association president Rana Intezar, representing Ali Hyderabadi, told the court that his client was willing to join the investigation but feared imminent arrest. He requested the court to grant protective relief to enable the accused to cooperate with investigators.
Accepting the plea, the court ordered Ali Hyderabadi to join the investigation and restrained police from arresting him until July 14.
It may be recalled that the case was registered by Sundar Police Station in Lahore following allegations that the YouTuber subjected his wife to physical abuse.
The allegations surfaced after videos and claims related to the couple circulated widely on social media, sparking public debate and calls for legal action. Police subsequently registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
