ISLAMABAD: Three women were arrested, along with their male accomplice, for allegedly conducting thefts while disguising themselves as housemaids, a police spokesperson said on Thursday.
The arrests were made by the Crime Investigation Agency (CIA) of the capital police, which also recovered valuables including gold ornaments and cash from them, the police said.
A police spokesperson informed that the last couple of months had seen many complaints of house thefts in which the victims were accusing their servants and that the CIA was then asked to investigate into the matter.
After collecting details regarding the suspects from the victims, the CIA team managed to arrest three women and their male accomplice, who was part of the same gang, the spokesperson added.
The arrested accused have been identified as Saba, Fauzia, Tahira, and Inayat Ali. During the investigation, they confessed to looting various houses in the area of Industrial Area Police Station, and various districts of Islamabad.
