RAWALPINDI: The district police have arrested a man allegedly involved in raping a 17-year-old girl in Rawalpindi, while another accomplice is still at large, a police spokesperson said on Thursday.
Within the limits of Kahuta police station, the accused was arrested after a few hours of the incident. In her complaint to the police, she said that the man forcibly took her to a deserted place and sexually abused her along with his friend.
On the directions of Superintendent of Police (SP) Zia-ud-Din Ahmed, the police registered a case against the accused and arrested one of the suspects. The case was registered under section 376 against the accused.
Earlier, a female dancer in Gujranwala, who was hired to dance at a wedding function, was allegedly abducted and raped in a car, according to the police.
A First Information Report (FIR) was registered on the complaint of the victim. The victim told police that she was called to the wedding for a dance performance with three of her friends.
“The groom’s cousin kidnapped me from the ceremony at gunpoint, drove near his house and then sexually abused me in his car,” the complaint read. The suspect, identified as Chandu, was drunk and had also beaten the victim, the complaint read.
