In Upper Kurram district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the funeral prayer of a police officer martyred during duty in an attack by unidentified miscreants was held on Friday. Meanwhile, the condition of the Additional Assistant Commissioner, who was injured in the incident, is reported to be stable.
According to Kurram Police, the funeral prayer of police officer Syed Ashiq Hussain, who was martyred in a firing incident in the village of Bushra Fatih Kelay near Parachinar in Kurram district, was held at the DPO office in Parachinar. The funeral was attended by a large number of local people, military leadership, police personnel, including SP Operations Mohammad Abbas and SP Investigation Mazhar Jahaan.
On this occasion, a well-disciplined police squad saluted the martyred officer and presented him with floral wreaths. Police officials paid tribute to the martyred officer for his professional services, wrapped his body in the national flag, and prayed for his elevated status. Later, the body was sent to his ancestral village, Norki, for burial.
Meanwhile, the Additional Assistant Commissioner, who was injured in the Parachinar attack, was airlifted to Peshawar, where he is receiving treatment at CMH. Advisor to the Information Ministry of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Barrister Saif, and other officials visited him. According to authorities, his condition is now out of danger.
It is worth mentioning that earlier, Deputy Commissioner Javed Ullah Mehsud was targeted in a shooting by miscreants, resulting in his injuries. The government is making efforts to maintain peace in the area, but miscreants continue to spread fear and terror.
