KARACHI: Four family members — mother and three children — were found dead in their residence in a Karachi’s Malir Shamsi Society, police officials confirmed.
A man was also found in critical condition at the house.
According to the police, the four members of the family were killed with a sharp-edged object in the Shamsi Society.
The victims were tenants of the house where the crime was perpetrated.
Police confirmed they found bloodied bodies of one older woman, 38, and three girls, 16, 12, and 10 in the house.
After being informed about the situation, the police rushed to the scene and shifted the bodies and the injured to the hospital. The Crime Scene Unit has also collected evidence from the murder scene.
The injured man was named Fawad, according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Korangi Sajid Khan Sadozai. The murder weapon, a knife, was found at the crime scene by the police, the official police statement continued.
“After killing her wife, 38, and children, Fawad tried to commit suicide,” he claimed.
The policeman added that his brother was at work when the terrible occurrence took place, and that his brother’s family also resides in the same building.
The SSP said that Fawad is employed by a private company as a salesman.
According to Sadozai, Fawad is in severe condition at the hospital, which is why the police did not record his statement.
