A powerful explosion on a railway track in Shikarpur has caused four coaches of the Jafar Express to derail, media reported on Tuesday.
According to police reports, the blast occurred near the village of Sultan Kot in Shikarpur while the Jafar Express was en route from Rawalpindi to Quetta.
The explosion triggered the derailment of four coaches, causing panic among passengers and prompting a temporary suspension of train operations in the area.
Witnesses reported that a stampede broke out on board following the explosion. Four passengers sustained minor injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital for first aid.
Security forces and a large contingent of police arrived at the scene shortly after the incident. Investigations into the cause of the explosion are underway.
