A fire broke out at a bank located in Shah Alam Market in Lahore, prompting an immediate emergency response.
According to the report, rescue emergency vehicles reached the scene promptly, and the Rescue 1122 team and firefighters carried out swift operations to control the blaze.
Officials from Rescue 1122 confirmed that the fire erupted in the bank’s IT room and was successfully extinguished before it could spread to other parts of the building.
No casualties were reported in the incident, while cooling and safety operations were completed to prevent reignition.
The incident comes just days after a deadly fire at the Indigo Hotel in Lahore’s upscale Gulberg area, which claimed three lives, injured five people, and led to the rescue of 275 others on January 24,.
Rescue 1122 firefighters had launched an immediate operation at the hotel and managed to bring the fire under control despite extremely challenging conditions caused by heavy smoke in the basement.
Police said the hotel was frequently used by staff members of foreign airlines, while initial investigations revealed that the fire had originated in the basement due to gas leakage.
Rescue officials stated that the command and control centre received the fire alert at 12:25pm, after which nearly 80 officers and personnel participated in the operation to evacuate guests and staff from the 19-storey building.
