RAWALPINDI: Police have registered a case against a religious teacher (Qari) following allegations of inappropriate behavior toward a 12-year-old girl within the jurisdiction of the Chaklala police station.
According to the complainant, her 12-year-old daughter is learning the Quran (Nazra) at the local Jamia Masjid. When the girl arrived for her lesson, Qari Safdar was listening to other children recite. When the girl sat down to present her own lesson, Qari Safdar allegedly subjected her to inappropriate behavior using his feet.
The mother stated that when her daughter returned home, she was extremely distressed and panicked, and she narrated the entire incident. She added that Qari Safdar had harassed her daughter, and requested strict legal action against him.
Meanwhile, police officials stated that a formal case has been registered and an investigation is currently underway.
