Trouble is brewing in India where thousands of farmers have been protesting since weeks for the revocation of three anti-farmer laws that they claim have hurt their livelihoods. The Modi government is facing its biggest challenge in years as the farmers have refused negotiations and blocked highways.
In such circumstances, the next move of the Indian government would be to divert attention from internal policies. The only way it could do this is to turn towards its adversary Pakistan. There have been mounting tensions after credible reports suggest that India could attempt a preemptive strike in the border regions along Pakistan by launching a false flag operation to disrupt peace in the region.
The Pakistan Army has been placed on high alert over any Indian misadventure and to teach a befitting lesson over any violations. The armed forces have been defending the borders and are fully capable of responding to any Indian aggression. The border situation has worsened as India has attacked villages and civilians. This year alone there have been more than 2,000 ceasefire violations but the world seems oblivious to Indian monstrosities and deliberate targeting of innocent people.
Pakistan has warned against any false flag operation or any attempt to violate border security. It is not far behind when India faced an embarrassment when it attempted to violate airspace and receiving a humbling. Its earlier claims of so-called surgical strikes received no credible support and were largely dismissed. Since then it has been embroiled in a border standoff with China in Ladakh where it faced defeat and even loss of territory.
India is making more enemies than friends. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau earned the wrath of Indian politicians just for mentioning that the protests by Indian farmers were ‘concerning’ and they have grave concerns over them. India called the comments unwarranted and interference in its internal matters. India does not like interference in internal issues but has largely failed to contain them as they continue to spread across the divided nation.
As India remains wrangled in its domestic affairs, it should realize that any aggression towards Pakistan will serve no purpose. Instead, India should choose the path of dialogue to resolve its internal matter before they spill over and disrupt regional peace.
