ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has summoned Prime Minister Imran Khan yesterday, taking note of the meeting in Swat.
According to details, the Election Commission has issued a notice to the PTI chairman for holding a rally in Swat, ordering the prime minister to appear in person on March 18 in person or through the consulate.
A notification issued by the District Monitoring Officer of the Election Commission said that all public office holders were barred from holding a rally in Swat. The prime minister held a rally in Swat despite being stopped.

The District Monitoring Officer, Election Commission, said that if the Prime Minister did not appear on March 18, legal action would be taken. The notification also issued notices to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mehmood Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
The notification has also been issued to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial ministers including Federal Minister for Communications Murad Saeed and Dr. Amjad Ali. The Election Commission has said that the Swat rally was against the law and a response has been sought.
