The Sindh government has declared September 5, 6 (Friday and Saturday), public holidays in observance of Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH), which falls on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal in the Islamic lunar calendar.
According to the notification issued by the Sindh government, there will be a public holiday on Friday, September 5, and Saturday, September 6, for all government institutions in the province.
As per the notification, all educational institutions and offices in Sindh will remain closed on September 5 and 6 in observance of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH).
Earlier, the federal government has declared Saturday, September 6, a public holiday for Eid Miladun Nabi (PBUH).
A notification issued by the Cabinet Division confirmed that the day would be observed nationwide.
It should be noted that on the 12th of Rabiul Awwal, Muslims across the world commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) on this day, marking it with gatherings, prayers, processions and religious recitations.
