Effective steps being taken to improve fisheries sector: Ali Zaidi

KARACHI: Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs, Ali Haider Zaidi has said that effective steps were being taken to improve the fisheries sector. 
Conducting a media conference, Ali Haider Zaidi said that a new fisheries policy has been prepared to meet the challenges in this sector.
Zaidi said that the steps were also being taken to train fishermen properly.
On 19th September,  Zaidi highlighted that the private sectors of the country were provided opportunities to purchase ships under the new shipping policy announced by the federal government.
Earlier this August the Minister held a meeting with the seafarers including Chairmen of all ports, Director General Ports and Shipping, Secretary, Maritime Affairs and all the stakeholders to discuss the issues faced by both the fresh graduates of Pakistan Marine Academy and those who are already serving in the field.
