Significant developments have emerged in the case involving young Karachi trader Mir Raza Ali, with his DNA reportedly matching that of his parents.
Sources further stated that the chemical analysis report prepared by the University of Karachi’s Chemical Laboratory has been submitted to the relevant authorities. The report is separate from and has no connection with the DNA laboratory.
According to investigative sources, the chemical examination of Mir Raza’s shirt has been completed. During the examination, traces of hydrochloric acid (HCl) were reportedly detected on the shirt.
Investigative sources also stated that substances consistent with sedative medication were found in Mir Raza’s blood sample.
In addition, gunshot residue (GSR) was detected around the waist area of Mir Raza’s shirt. Investigators said the relatively higher concentration of GSR around the waist indicates that the gunshot may have struck from the direction of the waist.
Meanwhile, two additional members have been added to the investigation team probing the Mir Raza case.
According to a notification, DSP Sirajuddin and Inspector Muhammad Ali have been included in the investigation team. Following the addition of the two members, the investigation team now comprises seven members.
Separately, the former investigation officer in the Mir Raza case has requested additional time from the court to submit the investigation report.
The former investigation officer appeared before the Judicial Magistrate (East) during the hearing.
He informed the court that the investigation into the case was still underway and that senior authorities had replaced the investigation officer assigned to the case. He further stated that the newly appointed investigation officer would appear before the court at the next hearing.
The court accepted the former investigation officer’s request and directed that the investigation report be submitted by August 15.
