Danish man shoves 68 matches up his nose for world record

A Danish man earned an unusual Guinness World Records title when he managed to stuff 68 matchsticks into his nostrils.

Peter von Tangen Buskov received the Guinness Award, surpassing the previous record of 45 sticks.

“Surprisingly I was not hurt. My nostrils are quite large and my skin is quite stretched. I am sure that this helped me a lot”, said the 39-year-old.

Buskov said he chose the matchstick challenge after researching different world records he could attempt. He said he doesn’t think he can currently beat his own record, but he hasn’t ruled out trying again in the future.

“For me, an increase in capacity would require some training, or perhaps my nose will grow as I get older,” he said.

Having grown up reading Guinness World Records books, Peter is delighted to have set a world record of his own.
