Thanks to Almighty Allah, no motivational speaker has been able to capture my attention in my life. Probably a factor is that the habit of reading was instilled from childhood. The motivational speaker, on the other hand, can only impress those who are not attached to knowledge with their ignorant superstitions.
Their knowledge can be gauged from the fact that a few days ago, I heard a speech of 34 minutes and 56 seconds of a well-known motivational speaker of the country only because the topic was “How to become a creative writer?” In the sixth minute, the speaker said to his audience: “Write this word ‘Zauq’ somewhere.”
Our shock was natural because the urge to write before speaking is usually in the sense that it is intended to express a scientific point which has never before come before human consciousness. The speaker later said, “Zauq means fondness”. This ignorant person did not know the real meaning of Zauq.
The so-called motivational speaker later offered the only tip to become a “creative writer” and said that he would make a circle in the middle of the paper and write the title in it and draw branches on all four sides of this circle. As a result, many aspects of the subject become clear and he then sit down and sketch out what he has to write at the beginning, in the middle and at the end of his “creative writing”.
Let’s take a look at who is a creative writer. This will make you realize that in this chapter the motivational speaker has not even taken the first step on the ladder of consciousness but he is now trying to make others creative writers.
In the general sense, a writer is anyone who uses a pen to express himself. But the word that comes true with its perfect meaning to the person is the creative writer. The first question in this regard is what is creative writing? The general idea is that creative writing is one in which pen aesthetics are at their peak. In other words, the art of writing is visible on its job.
Not only words but his alertness, dedication, phrases, poetry too are most required. And the effect of human conditions in this writing should be so deep that it can bring its reader into these conditions and make him smile or cry. That’s right- this is not a comprehensive definition of creative writing.
All these qualities belong to prose only. While writing has a purpose, and the goal is to change the way the reader thinks. Because changing attitudes changes his society. So a comprehensive definition of creative writing would be one that covers this purpose as well.
Thus creative writing is that which, with the help of the aesthetic elements of creation, has the power to bring about a change in the attitude of its reader, which in turn leads to the “creation” of a better society. The greatest weakness of the ancient Arab writers in this chapter is that there is only aesthetics. The power to bring about change in society is beyond their reach.
You can burn your head on it but you cannot build a society with it. In contrast, the Persian literature of Maulana Rumi and Saadi Shirazi seems to meet all the requirements of creation. What could be more gratifying than the services of Maulana Rumi in particular that White people have set up institutes in the United States for research on his ideas and there are also pursuing a PhD on Maulana Rumi there.
What sets the creative writer apart is that it does not pass on existing knowledge or ideas, but rather informs the society of its consequences in such a way that what he is writing is a completely new thing. His writing is a creative expression of the consciousness that grew with knowledge and began to draw conclusions through reflection.
There is another distinguishing feature of such a writer which sets him/her apart from all other types of writers. That is, all other writers think first and write later. They first sketch what they have to write. Then they pick up a pen and write it down on paper.
While creative writers, it is often the case that an idea suddenly emerges. And the thought made him restless, forcing him to pick up a pen or a keyboard. Such a writer immediately picks up the pen because he knows it’s not just one idea, but a whole bunch of coherent ideas behind it.
If you ever look at such a writer from a slit while writing, if the turn of the subject is pleasant, you will see a smile spread on his lips. That smile is the answer to his own mind. As if to say, “What’s the matter, my friend?” It would not be out of place to say that three characters are simultaneously active during such a writing process.
A brain that is active as a permanent personality. The second is the pen which translates the thought into words and the third is the writer whose existence has become just a bridge between the mind and the pen. And this is the reason that when this writing is completed, the first person to be immersed in reading it is the writer himself.
Of the three, the writer is surprising only because the creation of the mind is of those moments where it got out of the control of the writer and gained complete autonomy. Evaluate this autonomy from the fact that you must have heard from some writers that I was writing something else but writing came out something else.
Now, if you think about it, the mind and the penman look different. The mind itself is not surprised at the completion of the masterpiece. He has now returned to his normal state. Such writers consider it very trivial to sacrifice a hundred girlfriends in these dark moments of the night.
Hopefully, after reading this column, the Motivational Speaker will understand that creative writing has no circle, no branches and no sketches. But in such a case, they can certainly get into the dilemma of what to do with their circle and branches now?
