LAHORE: An accountability court on Wednesday has directed the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) to file the reference against Punjab Assembly’s opposition leader Hamza Shehbaz in assets beyond means case.
The court extended the judicial remand of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader until 28th July in assets-beyond-means case.
During the hearing, the court asked NAB prosecutor to explain when the reference will be filed against in the case. The prosecutor informed the reference will be filed once investigation into the case is wrapped up.
The court directed the bureau to file the reference at the earliest and adjourned the hearing until 28th July.
NAB arrested PML-N leader in the assets-beyond-income case on 11th June, 2019, after Lahore High Court had turned down his applications for extension in interim bail.
On the other hand, Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi has issued production orders for opposition leader Hamza Shahbaz Sharif for his participation in the assembly session on 15th July.
