The Balochistan Education Department has imposed a complete ban on corporal punishment in both public and private schools across the province.
A formal notification issued by the department says that disciplinary and legal action will be taken against teachers and educational institutions found violating the ban.
The department stressed that violence or physical punishment against students will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
According to the notification, several incidents of corporal punishment have recently been reported at educational institutions, practices that violate children’s fundamental rights and undermine a healthy learning environment.
School administrations have been instructed to ensure that students are provided with a safe, respectful, and positive educational atmosphere.
The Education Department said the decision aims to safeguard students’ rights, protect their physical and mental well-being, and promote a more constructive and supportive disciplinary system in educational institutions.
