ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan will chair a National Security Committee (NSC) meeting today over the coronavirus at the Prime Minister House.
The NSC meeting’s announcement came after the 21st case of the coronavirus recently declared in Skardu. Chief ministers of all four provinces are ordered to attend the meeting.
Ministers of defence, interior and foreign ministries as well as the Prime Minister’s advisors and special assistants will also attend the meeting.
Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh on Finance, Dr. Zafar Mirza on Health, national security division Moeed Yusuf and Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan on Information will also attend the meeting.
Meanwhile, the recommendations on formulating a national strategy for coronavirus prevention and banning the gatherings across the country will also be reviewed in the meeting.
15 coronavirus cases have been declared from Karachi, 2 from Islamabad, 3 from Gilgit-Baltistan’s Skardu and 1 from Quetta.
Moreover, more than 4,000 people have died from the coronavirus globally and over 113,000 cases have been confirmed but more than 64,000 people have recovered too.
