LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has heard a petition on a shortage of sanitizers and surgical masks in the local markets due to the coronavirus disease.
During the hearing, a bench of the high court headed by Chief Justice Mamoon Rashid Sheikh ordered the government to submit a reply over its supply.
The court had earlier issued a written interim order over a plea seeking control on a rapid increase in rates of surgical masks in ehich it sought reports from the federal and Punjab government over the shortage.
An official team in this regard conducted a raid in Rawalpindi and recovered a stock of masks with Chinese citizens involved in hoarding.
The nationwide tally of the coronavirus has risen to 193 after new cases were reported across the country today.
