Confirmed COVID-19 cases rise to 35,700 in Pakistan

LAHORE: The number of confirmed coronavirus cases has surged to 35,788 in Pakistan, while the death toll stands at 770.
According to the National Command and Control Center (NCOC), more than 1,452 cases of coronavirus were reported while 33 people succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
As many as 9,695 patients have recovered from the disease, while 153 are said to be critical as the country is still witnessing a consistent rise in the COVID-19 cases.
As per details, 21 percent of the cases have foreign travel history while 79 percent of the cases are reported to be locally transmitted.
After a sharp increase in the cases, the number of patients swelled to 13,561 in Punjab, the most affected province in the country. The region reported 223 coronaviruses causalities. A partial lockdown has been imposed across the province to stem the spread of the infection.
A total of 13,341 cases were reported in Sindh, 5,252 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 2,239 in Balochistan, 822 in Islamabad, 482 in Gilgit-Baltistan, and 91 in Azad Kashmir.
