LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar has sought a report from Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bhakkar about the torture of a 60-year-old woman and her family by police.
Usman Buzdar ordered for taking departmental action against the police officials involved in the incident. The incident took place with a family traveling from Bhakkar to Islamabad over a fare dispute on Sunday.
During the dispute, Noon police station personnel reached the spot, ASI Raza started torturing the old woman. “The old woman was apologizing to ASI however, the police official Raza kept torturing the old woman,” sources said.
When the media reached the site, ASI Raza fled from the scene, sources added. The woman was shifted to a nearby hospital for medical treatment. The woman had appealed to the IG Islamabad to register a case against the ASI and his accomplices who had tortured the woman.
