ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial has constituted a three-member bench to hear the petition of Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi against the ruling of Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Sardar Dost Muhammad Mazari.
According to the details, the 3-member bench of the Supreme Court will be headed by Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial, while the other two judges include Justice Ijazul Ahsan and Justice Munib Akhtar.
Hamza Shehbaz, Deputy Speaker, and Chief Secretary have been made a party in the petition filed by Pervaiz Elahi yesterday. On the other hand, the newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shehbaz has taken the oath of office today.
Punjab Governor Balighur Rehman administered the oath of office to Hamza Shahbaz at Governor House Lahore. Party leaders, workers, and important personalities participated in the swearing-in ceremony.

It should be noted that Hamza Shehbaz remained the Chief Minister of Punjab with a difference of three votes. Before announcing the result, Deputy Speaker Dost Mazari read out Chaudhry Shujaat’s letter in the House, based on which all 10 votes cast by the Muslim League (Q) were cancelled.
Thus, after 10 votes were cancelled, the number of votes of Parvez Elahi was 176, while the number of votes of Hamza Shehbaz remained 179.
