ISLAMABAD: The Chinese embassy in Pakistan strongly condemns the US interference in Pakistan-China relations and the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Responding to US diplomat Alice Wells, the spokesperson opposed the US interference In Pak-China relations and terming it negative propaganda by the US.
The spokesperson said, “Although you can never wake up a person who is pretending to be asleep, we have to make our position clear and reject the negative propaganda by the US.”
The Chinese embassy spokesperson further said, “The comments hold nothing new, but the same cliche in her speech in November 2019, which has been repeatedly rejected by China and Pakistan.”
Earlier on Jan 21, during her visit to Pakistan, Alice Wells made negative remarks on CPEC again and alleged that there was no transparency in CPEC projects, claiming Pakistan’s debt burden was growing due to the Chinese financing.
