The retail prices of cement in Pakistan have witnessed a slight decrease in Pakistan during the last week offering relief to the consumers and builders.
According to the Bureau of Statistics, the average retail price of cement per bag in the northern cities of the country in the week ending January 23 was recorded at Rs1387, which is 0.66 percent less than the previous week.
In the previous week, the average retail price of cement per sack in the northern cities of the country was recorded at Rs1396. Similarly, in the southern cities of the country, the average retail price per sack last week was recorded at Rs1384.
According to statistics, during the last week, the average retail price of cement per bag in Islamabad was Rs 1364, Rawalpindi 1344, Gujranwala 1370, Sialkot 1380, Lahore 1450, Faisalabad 1410, Sargodha 1393, Multan 1391, Bahawalpur 1400, Peshawar 1400 and Bannu Rs 1350.
Similarly, during the last week, the average retail price of cement per sack in Karachi was Rs 1339, Hyderabad 1340, Sukkur 1450, Larkana 1400, Quetta 1435, and Khuzdar 1337.
Meanwhile, the exports of cement witnessed an increase of 23.21 percent during the first half of the fiscal year 2024-25, as against the exports of the corresponding period of last year.
