LAKKI MARWAT: At least eight people are reported to have lost their lives and more than 18 others injured in an explosion Tuesday at Sarai Naurang Bazaar Phatak in Lakki Marwat district, hospital sources said. Two traffic police officers are among the martyred.

Police said the blast occurred at Sarai Naurang Bazaar Phatak, a busy commercial area in Lakki Marwat tehsil.
According to hospital sources, eight people have been confirmed martyred in the incident. The martyred include two traffic police officers who were present at the site.
Hospital sources further stated that more than 18 people were injured as a result of the explosion. A woman and children are also among the injured.
An emergency has been imposed at Sarai Naurang Hospital to deal with the casualties, hospital sources confirmed.
Initial police information indicated the explosion may have been caused by explosives installed in a motorcycle. The exact nature and cause of the blast are still under investigation.
Security personnel cordoned off the area after the incident. No group has immediately claimed responsibility.
