Car sales in Pakistan have witnessed a sharp rise of 40.99% during the first nine months of the fiscal year 2024-25 compared to the same period in the previous year, according to recent data from the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA).
A total of 76,265 cars were sold, significantly surpassing the 54,091 units sold in the same months of the prior year.
Breaking down the figures, sales of Honda Civic and City models increased to 11,460 units during July-March 2024-25, up from 8,514 units in the corresponding months of 2023-24.
Toyota Corolla and Yaris witnessed a sales boost of 48.92%, climbing to 15,980 units from 10,730 units. Similarly, Suzuki Swift sales surged by 57.45%, reaching 5,891 units compared to 3,586 units last year.
On the other hand, sales of Suzuki Cultus dropped to 1,984 units during the review period, down from 2,803 units last year. Suzuki WagonR also saw a decline, with sales falling to 1,705 units from 2,652 units.
Conversely, Suzuki Alto sales rose by 37.91%, with 31,284 units sold this year compared to 22,683 units in the previous year. Suzuki Bolan recorded a significant jump, increasing from 1,734 units to 3,168 units over the same time frame.
