Late singer and Islamic scholar Junaid Jamshed’s clothing brand J. has merged in UI Garments, a private TV channel reported on Friday.
As per the report, the Competition Commission of Pakistan (CCP) has officially approved the merger between UI Garments and the popular clothing brand ‘J.’ formerly known as Junaid Jamshed.
UI and Junaid Jamshed Private Limited had jointly filed a merger application, seeking approval for the acquisition of the entire business by UI through a share swap.
Following the completion of this agreement, Junaid Jamshed will cease to exist as a separate entity, and all its operations, assets, and liabilities will be fully merged into UI Garments.
This strategic move combines UI Garments’ manufacturing capabilities with the well-established retail presence of the J. brand, which was originally founded by the late singer and Islamic scholar Junaid Jamshed, the report added.
The J. brand, which underwent rebranding following its founder’s tragic death in a 2016 plane crash, maintains its strong customer base in Pakistan’s modest fashion market.
Industry observers anticipate that this merger will enhance production capacity while preserving the brand’s distinctive identity.
No immediate changes to retail operations or staffing have been announced, though the combined entity is expected to streamline supply chains and potentially expand product offerings.
