ISLAMABAD: The federal police and traffic police have chalked out an elaborate security plan for ‘chehlum’ of Hazrat Imam Hussan (R.A) and strict patrolling during the procession and religious gatherings in the city.
According to details, nearly 260 traffic policemen would perform duties during the procession to ensure a smooth flow of traffic in the city.
The traffic plan has been finalized by Senior Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Farrukh Rasheed in a meeting, which was also attended by SP (Traffic) Ch. Khalid Rasheed, DSPs and Inspectors of four zones.
The traffic would be diverted on alternate routes from 8 am till the culmination of the procession while ITP FM Radio 92.4 will also guide road users about the situation on roads.
During the procession, Fazl-e-Haq road from Kalsoom plaza and China Chowk will remain close for traffic and citizens can use the Jinnah Avenue. Likewise, 7th avenue heading to Chandtara Chowk will remain close from Blue Area out loop to Chowk Sehrwardy.
Meanwhile, the federal police have informed that heavy contingents of Islamabad police including Rangers and personnel of other law enforcement agencies will perform patrolling.
The main procession to be taken out from Imambargah Asna-e-Ashri sector G-6/2 will be completely cordoned off through heavy deployment. The police officers including SPs will also visit various police posts, lying in the route of procession, and check security duties.
