The ninth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL-9) kicked off in Lahore on Saturday night. However, the sporting event is facing public backlash in light of the Gaza-Israel war, as PSL has named KFC as its official snacks partner.
After the news surfaced that PSL has partnered with KFC, a company allegedly financially supporting the Israeli army, a wave of “Boycott PSL” posts flooded social media, particularly on the popular platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

These people are so blind in the race for money that KFC, the supporters of the Zionist killers of Gaza and Rafah, are their partners.

Despite the strong public reaction, PSL officials have yet to clarify their position on the issue. Earlier, similar boycott campaigns against Israeli products gained momentum in Pakistan, leading to financial losses for several products.
PSL, a T20 cricket match series, is highly anticipated by Pakistanis each year. However, the deep-seated love and commitment of Pakistanis to innocent Palestinians are unparalleled. This is why the boycott campaign has the potential to turn PSL into a failed cricket show if the public’s concerns are not addressed.
