An Airport Security Force (ASF) official, identified as Zeeshan Akhtar, died after sustaining a gunshot wound from his service weapon at Tower No. 4 of the Islamabad International Airport.
He was immediately transferred to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) but unfortunately succumbed to his injuries.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the case.
Last year, a superintendent of police (SP) posted in Islamabad passed away after sustaining critical injuries from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot near Serena Chowk.
He was rushed to the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), where he succumbed to his injuries.
According to police sources, the officer was a well-regarded member of the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) and had only recently taken charge as SP Industrial Area in Islamabad.
